Stay Informed: The 2025 Social Security SSI Payment Schedule

The 2025 schedule for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments has been set, and it’s important to note a few changes from the usual timeline. If you’re wondering when your next SSI payment will arrive, here’s the full breakdown.

January and February Adjustments
January 1st isn’t listed as a payment date for SSI in 2025, as the payment will be issued on December 31, 2024, due to the New Year’s Day holiday. February’s payment will be delivered early, on January 31, 2025, to keep things on track.

March Payment Changes
The SSI payment scheduled for March 1 will be advanced by a day because it falls on a Saturday. Expect it on February 28, 2025, ensuring that your funds are available without delay.

No Payment in March
Because of the early payment in February, there will be no SSI payment issued for the month of March. Be sure to manage your finances accordingly, as March will not have a regular deposit.

April and May
Both April and May payments will occur on their usual dates—the first of the month—so there are no changes to be aware of for those months. However, May will also see a payment issued on May 30 for June. This means two payments will arrive in May.

June Payment
While it might seem like a bonus, the payment for June is not extra money—it’s just an early distribution. As always, payments from January to December will include the 2025 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), which will increase the maximum benefit to $967 for individuals and $1,450 for couples.

July and August Payments
There will be no changes for SSI payments in July and August, with checks issued as usual on the first day of the month. However, retirees receiving both Social Security and SSI will see a special benefit. On August 1, they will receive both their SSI and Social Security payments, making it a double payday.

September Payment
The September SSI payment will be delivered on August 29, 2025, to keep things on track.

October Changes
October will also see two SSI payments. One will be issued on October 1, and the other, for November, will arrive on October 31.

December Payments
In December, the first payment will be issued on December 1, with another payment on December 31 for January 1, 2026. This double payment will be the final one of the year, ensuring that you receive your January 2026 payment early.

Be sure to review the official 2025 SSI schedule and plan your finances accordingly to avoid any surprises. The changes are designed to ensure timely payments, even during holidays and weekends, but it’s important to manage your budget, especially in months with multiple payments.
